Phyto Omega Oil

Phyto - Omega - Oil: Vital fatty acids

The Systematic of Fatty Acids
The body manufactures eicosanoids from the unsaturated fatty acids linolic acid and linolenic acid. These are hormone-like substances which regulate important cell functions. For example, they are also responsible for the regulation of cholesterol, blood pressure, the maintenance of healthy skin, ensuring a minimum of inflammatory processes and auto-immune illnesses and the maintenance of mental capacities.
Long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, for example EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), have been recognized to be especially significant in the prevention of heart and circulatory diseases and in the modulation of inflammatory diseases (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, chronic polyarthritis etc.).
While omega-6 fatty acids generally cause inflammation-stimulating substances in metabolism, omega-3 fatty acids manufacture anti-inflammatory substances. For this reason the ratio of fatty acids consumed is especially significant when treating chronic inflammatory diseases. In other words, the dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids can influence inflammatory metabolism in a very positive way, as numerous clinical studies have proven. A conventional diet based largely on meat, sausage and cheese is responsible for a relatively high proportion of omega-6 fatty acids in the blood and thus increases the tendency to inflammatory processes.

The following are essential fatty acids and the vegetable foods which contain them:
• Linolic acid: vegetable oils such as corn, safflower, soya bean, sunflower
• Linolenic acid: soya beans, walnuts, wheat germ, flaxseed
• Gamma linolenic acid: evening primrose oil, borage seeds

Phyto Omega Oil can help with the following conditions:
• High cholesterol level
• High level of triglycerides
• Arteriosclerosis, risk of infarct and thrombosis
• Arthritis and chronic inflammatory diseases
• Allergic asthma
• Chronic inflammatory intestinal diseases (colitis, Crohn’s disease)
• Allergies and eczema
• Itching and skin flaking of psoriasis

The effects are generally delayed to a certain degree, as the unsaturated fatty acids must first be incorporated into the cell membranes. For therapeutic effectiveness, regular and long-term intake is recommended. We therefore recommend an initial increase in the amount of intake compared to the long-term intake target. After several weeks the amount can be halved. Reduction in pain, inflammatory symptoms and skin irritation are signs of effectiveness.

Modern analytic methods (biofeedback analyses, blood tests) permit a reliable measurement of micro nutrients such as minerals and trace elements, vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids. Establishing this data is the groundwork of a meaningful and individually managed micro nutritional therapy. Many of these micro nutrients play important roles in metabolism and are therefore part of each therapy, according to the axiom that a chain will break at its weakest link.

Unsaturated fatty acids fulfill two vital functions in our organisms: They are building components of our cell membranes and also perform important functions in inflammatory metabolism.
